This is my take on the Moria mines, and one of the largest that I've seen. Includes a hidden piston door entrance, a spiral staircase delving underground, and a vast mine to explore. I used the default Painterly Pack while making it but most texture packs work just as well. I'd appreciate any feedback at all!

Updated everyday or so (2011/07/25). Under sea glass palace, glass castle in the sky full of waterfalls, trees in the sky. Working on a city SW of the glass structures, you can take mine cars there or most anywhere that is developed. Testing Lab in the city with lots of pistons stuff, including a duplicator. Two automatic 3 line train stations, more to come.

There are a number of dwellings (over 200 placed beds) in most explored places containing at least a bed and crafting area, most have multiple beds, multiple furnaces and storage. Some very large structures are now developing.

This would be a good base for an adventure map.

A castle that contains completely underground structures and a surounding village. Several other villages, each specializing in a different thing, mining, gathering, farming,etc, are scattered around the map as well as farms. Road and a rail network connect everything.

Railways that span many lengths and connect it all together. Tools and goodies hidden all over, buildings are mostly decorated and furnished. Fun to play on Survival!

I have explored this world extensively, and it's a rich one. Mine tracks total many tens of kilometers long going in all four directions. Lots of diamonds, four large bases, one on each mine cart track. Many mob spawners with booty, huge caves that can be explored forever.
NOTE: For some reason my spawn point moved, so I added torches and signs to help you navigate your way to the main base. You will travel through two minor outposts (with beds and supplies) before reaching the main base, which you will recognize by the glass structure. This update is the same as the first one, but with added help getting to my stuff from the new spawn point.

This is the same world seed as the one I downloaded before, but I built a bridge from the strange new spawn point, and have surveyed farther away too. I also have replaced most of my old boosters with gold power track, at least on two or three of the lines available. Return to main base from outposts by way of Portals, it's the only way, (except from the first base you get to from the spawn point, which you have a choice of minecart return or Portal).
