The Bedrock Copy

This website is a free fan archive of Minecraft World Map, a site for sharing Minecraft worlds that ran from 2011 to 2021, and of its game server (2012-2016). The original site went offline in February 2021.

We call it the Bedrock Copy: like bedrock in Minecraft, it is meant to stay put, preserving what Minecraft World Map was for many years to come. It brings back what could be saved from web archives and old downloads, so people can find their old worlds, comments and forum posts, and download their worlds again.

Unofficial

This archive is unofficial. It is made by fans and is not connected to the people who owned or ran Minecraft World Map, and not connected to Mojang or Microsoft. "Minecraft" is a trademark of Mojang. Nothing here is sold; everything is free.

Read-only

You can look and download, but you cannot sign up, upload or post. The forum is shown as it was saved; old accounts cannot be claimed or used.

Where everything comes from

• Uploaded worlds (2011-2014): the Minecraft Archive Project saved every world on the website in May 2014. The files are kept by the Internet Archive, and the Download buttons on world pages lead there.
• Server worlds: the game server's own worlds, from the website itself, from copies the server staff shared, and from a copy of Creative Archive 1.8 found in October 2026. They are on the Server Worlds page (15 downloads).
• Forum and comments: about 6,000 posts saved by the Wayback Machine and Common Crawl.
• History: public sources only: web archives, old forum and Reddit posts, and the worlds. See the History page.

People appear here only by their Minecraft or website names. Nothing private is published: no real names, no email addresses and nothing from the website's 2016 data breach. The Credits page thanks everyone whose work made this possible.

What is missing

• Every world uploaded after 21 May 2014 is gone, apart from the server worlds.
• 78 world posts from before then have no saved file, and 85 have no preview picture.
• Download counts, views, ratings, tags and world descriptions were never saved, so lists like "Top" or "Most downloads" cannot be rebuilt.
• Many forum threads only survive as a title.
• The full map pictures the site drew are lost; only small previews survive.
• Two server worlds, Creative Archive 1.7 and Creative Render 01, are still lost.
